Automatic detection of surface and structural defects on reflecting workpieces

In automatic real-time inspection of reflecting surfaces, the high-precision positioning required for the workpiece is particularly challenging. A new inspection algorithm simplifies this challenge and additionally enables classification of different types of surfaces. An application example illustrates the industrial real-time control of cylindrical surfaces.
