Transistors behind the lens – electronic shuttering on image sensors

In the development of image sensors, many things need to be balanced such as resolution vs. sensitivity or pixel complexity vs. fill-factor. This article illustrates how a clever arrangement of the transistors on a pixel enables advanced shuttering and noise suppression techniques for demanding applications.
