Guide structures for splicing single-mode fibres fabricated using deep lithography

Deep lithography is used for cost-efficient fabrication of a precise guide structure for aligning single-mode fibres. Subsequent splicing, of the fibres positioned with the alignment guide achieves transmission loss values comparable with those obtained by fusion splicing.
